Hotel na Doline is located directly on the cycling trail from where you can start exploring the Beskydy Mountains by bike. In less than an hour you can ride to the mountain resort of Pustevny or take a chairlift there with your bike. Head to the Pindula saddle, which is a twenty-minute ride from us, and from there you are in Roznov pod Radhostem in ten minutes, where you can visit an open-air Wallachian Museum or a water park. In less than half an hour you can also reach the ski jump towers in Frenstat pod Radhostem, where the famous ski jumper Jiri Raska trained. It also takes an hour and a half to get to Hukvaldy, where you can admire the castle game reserve and take a photo by the statue of the Cunning Little Vixen.
Hotel Na Doline is an ideal starting point for golf lovers. Within a radius of less than 20 km you will find three picturesque golf courses – located in Ostravice, Celadna and Frenstat pod Radhostem.
Do not forget to include Hukvaldy in your trip plans, the place where the famous composer Leos Janacek was born and lived part of his life. The village boasts the largest castle ruin in Moravia, a romantic game reserve with fallow deer and mouflons, and a musical amphitheatre. Tourists are attracted by the bronze statue of the Cunning Little Vixen, which sits on a glacial erratic. No one should forget to stroke its tail for a few seconds, as legend has it that it brings good luck.
During your visit to the Beskydy Mountains, be sure to find time to visit the renowned Museum of Tatra in Koprivnice, where the car company has made its mark in world history. The museum also includes an exposition of Dana and Emil Zatopek. Not far from Koprivnice lies the town of Stramberk, famous not only for the production of the confectionery „Stramberk ears“, but also for its lookout tower, called Stramberska Truba.
Frenstat pod Radhostem is also a cradle of Czech ski jumpers. Just a few kilometres from our hotel is the ski jumping area of Jiri Raska, who trained and competed here. From here you can follow a marked trail to the hill of Velky Javornik. From the top you can enjoy a breathtaking view of not only the Radhost ridge, but also surrounding towns.
You can also explore the Beskydy Mountains by bike from the other side than the side where our hotel is located. Via the nearby mountain saddle Pindula you can reach the other side of the Beskydy Mountains, Roznov pod Radhostem. The Wallachian open-air museum with traditional rural architecture and reminders of folk traditions and customs awaits you. You can also visit Jurkovic’s lookout tower above the town, a water park or an amusement park. The town is also the crossroads of a number of cycling and hiking trails.
Would you like to freshen up? Cycling through the Beskydy Mountains in summer can be exhausting. Take advantage of the modern water park in nearby Frenštát pod Radhoštěm. You can use the indoor or outdoor swimming pool, sports hall and playground for various sports activities.
Take a journey through the treetops and see the world from a bird’s eye view. The 660 metres long Stezka Valaska is located near the top station of the chairlift on Pustevny. It is open all year round.
The biggest magnet on Pustevny are the original buildings of the Slovak architect Dusan Jurkovic. The Mamenka and Libusin are among the most distinctive buildings by Jurkovic in Moravia. Libusin, which burned down in 2014, reopened to the public after reconstruction in 2020. You can also find a glimpse of the architect’s style right here in our hotel in the ballroom called the Little Libusin.
By car, cycleway or on foot you will reach the valley station of the chairlift to Pustevny and from there you will walk along the ridge to the statue of Radegast. On the way back you can choose one of the routes that will take you directly to our hotel. Adrenaline lovers can use scooters to return to the valley station of the chairlift.
Just a short walk from the valley station of the chairlift to Pustevny you will find the largest mountain rope park in the Czech Republic – Tarzanie. Test your courage, skill and dexterity in the treetops! Five routes are designed according to age and difficulty, for children, juniors, adults and seniors.
One of the attractions of Pustevny is a wooden trail for children. Families can admire life-size animals carved out of wood on the one-and-a-half-kilometre hiking trail. Will you recognise the inhabitants of the Beskydy forests?
